Weather Forecast for Laser Energy Transmission of Space-Based Solar Power
Tomonao KOBAYASHI
Solar power generation does not produce electricity on cloudy days or at night. In contrast, space-based solar power can generate electricity continuously for 24 hours. When using laser beams to transmit this generated electricity to the ground, it is affected by clouds and atmospheric transparency. Weather forecasting is used to estimate this atmospheric transmittance.
