Unveiling the Truths of the Universe with Radio Telescopes

Hiroshi TAKABA

At Gifu University, using the 11-meter radio telescope installed on campus, we are observing emission lines in the 22 GHz band from water molecules amplified by maser mechanisms. These water masers are excited by gas emissions from nascent proto-stars and intense mass ejections from late-stage stars nearing the end of their lifetimes. This research is pivotal in understanding the formation and evolution of stars, which is intricately linked to the origins of life.
